Concerns or complaints about a member of DCS
DCS strives for improvement through proper recruiting and hiring, personnel development, training and responsiveness to the campus community we serve in order to provide effective and efficient service to all. It is our directive to promptly investigate all allegations of member misconduct and work performance-related issues in a thorough, expeditious and impartial manner to ensure the integrity of the agency and its members. We maintain an internal system where-by this is accomplished.
Informal Concerns and Formal Complaints into employee misconduct and work performance issues can be filed in the manner below:
- Informal Concerns are generally minor in nature and you can request that your identity remain confidential. You may file an informal concern by contacting the DCS’s Captain of Patrol Operations. The Patrol Captain may determine, based on the information you've provided, that the concern is of a nature that requires a formal complaint. In that situation, the Patrol Captain will initiate an investigation on your behalf.
- Formal complaints are generally used for allegations of serious misconduct on the part of a DCS employee. As part of our initiatives, campus community members are encouraged to report formal complaints with the new online form available at Department of Campus Safety Complaints.
